Okay here are some new photos taken on 2/13/03 - and uploaded on 2/15/03
As of Today ( August 14, 2003) I have 9 clams in my tank.
I have more pictures of clams in my tank and they will be uploaded soon.
This is an AquaC EV-150 skimmer is is outside of the tank due to my high water level in the sump!
This Ca Reactor has been kicking ass for over a year now keeping Ca levels and alkilinity right without the need for additives!
The Reservoir holds 10 gallons of fresh water for auto top off controlled by a float switch in the left sump. It needs a fill up every 2 to 3 days or so.
Due to the high cost of buying DT's I have in the last 2 months or so switched to culturing my own phytoplankton.
This is based on Flame*Angel's setup. I'd like to thank her for the advise & help!!
I usually run two 2 liter bottles of mature phyto dumping half of each into another 2 liter bottle which gets fed to the tank over 7 days (so about 6 ounces 2 times a day).
Yes dual sumps!! I wanted to add more water volume to the system & at the same time add a plenum. I made the two new sumps out of acrylic and they are connected via 1.5 inch bulkheads.
These mangroves (actually you can only see one right now)in the overflow box but more will be added to the tank as soon as I can acclimate them to salt water. I think there will be a total of 4 shoots in the tank.
Lighting consists of two 250 watt 12,000K Metal Halide bulbs with one 55 watt power compact fluorescent Actinic bulb
How I hang my MH lighting
The sump is on a reverse daylight schedule lit by one 55 watt power compact fluorescent 10,000K bulb
This is a 60 gallon tank with one damsel in it & 40lbs. of Carib Sea argonite sand & 50lbs. of Live sand. For more info on this tank & to see how it is coming along go to http://www.surferstevo.com/marine.html
